Back To LA

Over the past month I went home to graduate, help my parents pack up the house because they're moving, and spend time with Ashlea, my family, and my friends. It was some good quality time but it seemed like it went by very fast.

I didn't walk at graduation because my parents and grandparents came to my film premiere in LA. That was more important to me than making them sit through the names being read at the ceremony. However, I learned that I graduated from the Honors College and Magna Cum Laude.

I am currently in Texas on my way back to LA. I've taken a couple pictures during the trip which I'll post later.

I'm moving into an apartment in North Hollywood with an alum from the LAFSC from the semester before mine. I'm replacing another LAFSC alum who won't have moved out by the time I want to move in so we're going to be cramped until he gets a new place, which hopefully won't be too long. I don't mind because once he moves out I'll have my own room in one of the lesser expensive apartments I've seen when I was looking for a place.

Job-wise I don't have anything locked down yet. On Monday I have a meeting with Nu-Lite Entertainment. A Producer/Manager from the production company approached me after the Jasper screening and said she wanted to meet with me. I called her yesterday and she said to bring a copy of Jasper, a resume, and any other work I wanted to show her. I'm not sure what the meeting is about though. Best case scenario, they want me to write and/or direct something for their company. That would be huge. I'm not expecting that too much yet.

If that doesn't go well, my next plan is to call a temp agency I was referred to by Ashlea's friend who writes for "Criminal Minds." She started there and she said that it was a good way to meet a lot of people. I'm cool with that. After my meeting on Monday I'll decide if I need to call them or not.

I'm also meeting with my directing teacher at some point in the next week and a half. He produces on "Intervention" and although he doesn't know of any openings right now he said he'd keep his ears open.

My dad and I have been driving 12+ hours a day but it hasn't felt like that much. We took a break to see Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Crystal Skull last night and I liked it a lot.

Grand Canyon today.
